Standard 1
Standard 1: Scientific and Theoretical Knowledge
Physical education teacher candidates know and apply discipline-specific scientific and
theoretical concepts critical to the development of physically educated individuals.
1.3: Describe and apply motor development theory and principles related to skillful
movement, physical activity, and fitness.
An example of me fulfilling Standard 1.3 would be any of the times that I analyzed basic skills and movements in students while having them perform some type of physical activity. One specific time that this took place was during my third lab at St. Mary's when I analyzed the leap, horizontal jump and slide. To see my reflection for this lab, click here!
